Background Checks
More school districts every day are requiring criminal background checks for volunteers.
HelpCounter can help with
tracking and enforcing this requirement.
Important Update: we are presently working with several school districts on customized background check enforcement and volunteer identification. If your district would like information regarding this, please contact us and we can offer a customized quote to your school district to meet their specific requirements.
HelpCounter allows you to control whether current background checks are required in your school. It also lets you
set different requirements for different types of volunteers (parent, non-parent, etc.). It can also restrict access
to this confidential information to comply with District Policies.
You can require
background checks
by simply checking
a box in the Main Setup
Note: this might be controlled
at
district
level
rather
than school level. |

Once you have set HelpCounter to require background checks, you can edit
the information in each volunteer's profile.
You set the status,
expiration date,
and volunteer
category.

If you prefer, you may edit the background check status of all volunteers in school from a single page.
This would be much more convenient than individually if you were working from a list.
If a volunteer has a current background check, they can sign in. If they don't, they will
see a message similar to below.
